About Halstead House

Hello and welcome to Halstead House, I'm Genevieve Belmaker, founder and owner. Glad you're here! I am an author, journalist, teacher, photographer, artist, experienced international traveler and entrepreneur. Halstead House is a home for things that I make, educational videos, and a portal to my services as a freelance journalist and editor.

Halstead House is a destination for home goods, decor, art and refurbished furnishings. We're a woman-owned, family-run business that is rooted in the values of community - on a global scale. 

My creations and projects are inspired and informed by decades of living and working all over the world. My coaching clients accomplish professional goals and gain confidence in their own ability to create, travel and reflect their inner experiences through their work and life.

The name Halstead House is inspired by my reverence for family and history. Halstead is a distinguished European ancestral line of my family that began to immigrate to America 400 years ago and eventually met with the Yakama Nation branch in my maternal grandparents' generation. I honor both my European and Indigenous roots in every aspect of my work.
